She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Waterloo. Her passion is performing vocal jazz. She loves exploring the endless repertoire of jazz standards, and making the sublime lyrics her own with a nostalgic, yet modern, flair. She has performed jazz standards at various locations, including The Rex and Gate 403 in Toronto, Tuscany’s Pub and Eatery in Owen Sound, the Registry Theatre in Kitchener, Manhattans Jazz Club in Guelph, and The Jazz Room in Waterloo.Mary-Catherine McNinch-Pazzano

Mary-Catherine has been extremely blessed to play with some jazz notables, including local gems John McLelland (piano), Paul Stouffer (piano), and Art Lang (bass). She has also played with esteemed jazz pianist Mark Eisenman. Recently, she has had the extreme honour of joining forces and singing with jazz legend Mike Grace (bass and horns), and saxophonist Jason Hunter.

Mary-Catherine is also at home in other musical styles. She has sung with the nationally acclaimed DaCapo Chamber Choir under the direction of Juno-nominated Leonard Enns, the Spiritus Ensemble under the direction of Ken Hull, the Bell’Arte Singers under the direction of Gerard Yun, and the professional early music ensemble TACTUS, as part of the Stratford Summer Music Festival. She was also a soloist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony for Schubert’s Mass in G in 2010.

A fan of classic film and music in film, Mary-Catherine fulfills her other passion for movies by working with the Reel Canada Film Festival in Toronto, an organization dedicated to bringing Canadian-made films to the attention of high school students. In addition, she prepares learning resources and works part time for Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox. She also operates her own voice studio in Waterloo where she teaches lessons to children and adults. She completed her Bachelor of Education degree in 2012.

Consider Mary-Catherine for your special event (wedding, private party, corporate event). She will ensure you have the preferred genre of music to suit your event (jazz, classical, pop, musical theatre), as well as an appropriately sized backup band or ensemble.
