Duncan Hopkins
Duncan has collaborated with many of the biggest names in jazz including to name a few Dianna Krall, Rob McConnell, Scott Hamilton, Peter Appleyard, Mark Murphy, Kenny Wheeler, D.D. Jackson, Sam Rivers, Edward Simon and the great arrangers Robert Farnon and Ralph Carmichael. He has backed up comedians such as Bob Newhart and Joan Rivers. He has appeared in commercials, television, videos as well as appearing prominently in Atom Egoyan’s movie thriller “Where the Truth Lies” featuring Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth. He also appears and wrote the music for a video entitled “Lost in the Library” collaborating with Canada’s poet Laureate George Bowering.

He has toured extensively throughout Canada, Great Britain, Europe, Brazil and the United States. He can be heard on over fifty albums, numerous CBC, BBC and NPR recordings. Duncan also teaches around the globe participating in many master classes and workshops at universities, colleges and public schools alike. He is a long-standing member of the Global Music Foundation teaching and performing each year for a week-long workshop in such locations as Tuscany, Italy and he is visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.
